Storyboards Round 1
I had found my audio quite early on in the process and I was struggling to find the right way I wanted to show the story I had envisioned. I initially had a lot more obvious references to other stories planned out. Most notably Romeo and Juliet and Bluey: The Sign.
Storyboards Round 2
Once I had a better grasp of the story I started really focusing in on the key moments and how I was going to tell them. At this point I had some strong moments, but not a strong story. What it needed was ways to tie it together in a cohesive manner.
Style Frames Round 1
I was also experimenting with the look of the story while I was figuring out the motion that I wanted to add. The excerpt focuses on how young-adult storytellers want to write about the ugliness of the world but should be focusing on fiction where people can get a happy ending. I thought about representing this through making it appear childish, like it was made for children.
Rough Animation
I got to putting together the basis and timing for all of the motion that I had planned after I got a better idea on how I wanted everything to come together.
