What would happen if I was to design an environment for popular VR game Beat Saber?
Brief: Design a promo for a collaboration between yourself and a brand of your choice.

AE: Compositing
Styleframes Round 1
The initial plan was to create a typical environment promotion that Beat Saber does. Show the environment and some gameplay with the songs that are created in it.
The environment would start out in one space and then it could transition to others using a Viewmaster disk. The different worlds would be based on one of my designs, a more blank repetitive piece, and colourful and high energy piece, one set in space, etc...
Styleframes Round 2
The Viewmaster concept was not working out, so I simplified the concept to working in opposites. A lot of what I do and like is in opposites; stars and the sea, blue and orange, chaos and order, to name a few.
I still had the idea of showing off the environment with gameplay.
Styleframes Round 3
This is what I ended up turning in for our first round of submissions.
Styleframe Revisions Round 1
During the critique, I was told to try and capture more of the feeling and excitement of a videogame trailer. So with the more focused atmosphere of the environment,
I decided to really build up to the tunnel by creating this calming mood juxtaposed by the energetic tunnel in the second half.
I created a particle cloner to be these colourful starlike shapes to move though.
Styleframe Revisions Round 2
The three opening scenes really changed the approach and feel to the piece for the better.
I struggled with how to break up the second half so it was not just the same thing. My solution was to reintroduce the lane that is in Beat Saber environments as a way to push us through the scene and a grounding point as more is revealed.
